Housing Support Officer

RMC has been assisting people to access and sustain appropriate accommodation and improve their housing and living conditions for nearly two decades and we are now looking for a housing officer to continue this work.

Salary scale: £22,500 – £24,500 approx.– (dependent on length & breadth of experience

Contract: 12 months with possibility of extension

Location: RMC’s Wolverhampton and Walsall offices – working across one or more branches may be a requirement.

Hours: 35 (full time)

Reporting to:  Casework team managers

Responsible for: Volunteers

Probation period: 4 months

We are recruiting for two roles. One primarily based in Wolverhampton, one in Walsall.

The post holder will be responsible for providing expert advice to clients on their housing rights, responsibilities and entitlements. With your insight and knowledge of housing related issues and regulations, you will work alongside the main casework teams on the delivery and development of our housing and homelessness related provision.

Resettlement and Integration Caseworker

We are seeking Resettlement and Integration Bank staff for Walsall and Wolverhampton. The aim of this role will be to enable and empower newly arrived often vulnerable refugees to settle into their new communities with confidence.

Salary scale: £18,000 – £19,500 (depending on experience)

Contract: Rolling monthly contract

Location: RMC’s Wolverhampton and Walsall offices

Hours: Part time or full time, up to 35 hours per week

Reporting to:  Resettlement and Integration Coordinator

Responsible for: n/a

Probation period: 4 months

Purpose of post:
• To support refugee families and/or individuals who have newly arrived to the UK.
• To enable clients to sustain independence within their new communities.
• To provide bespoke support and intervention based on client individual needs.
• To work alongside volunteers and other organisations to assist refugees to reach their own goals and aspirations as part of their integration in the UK.

Bridges Employment Coach

The Refugee and Migrant Centre is an award winning charity specialising in supporting asylum seekers, refugees and migrants with a wide range of services and initiatives aimed at removing barriers to integration and enabling people to become equal citizens.

We currently have the following vacancy based in our WALSAL OFFICE:

Bridges Employment Coach £19,939 – £21,057 (depending on experience and qualifications)

35 hours a week

Fixed Term until 31st March 2023

This post is fully funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund

RMC are looking to expand our current Employment and Skills team with the appointment of an Employment Coach in our Walsall Office. The successful candidate will be working on the Bridges Building Better Opportunities programme. The post holder will play a key role in the project by helping participants to develop their confidence and employability skills while offering appropriate information, advice, guidance and expertise to help people in overcoming barriers to work.

Advisor

We are recruiting new advisors to join our team. This role focuses on providing advice, advocacy and support to service users with various aspects related to their welfare.

Salary scale: £19,500 – £21,000 (dependent on experience and variety of languages)

Contract: 12 months with possibility of extension

Location: RMC’s offices in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Walsall (likely to be based in Wolverhampton or Walsall) – working across branches may be a requirement.

Hours: 35 (full time)

Reporting to:  Casework Team Managers

Probation period: 6 months

Training will be provided for successful applicants, so experience of providing advice to asylum seekers, refugees, and vulnerable migrants is not essential, but is desirable. You will need to have good communication skills and be able to present often complex information clearly to clients.

Caseworker- OISC-regulated Level 1

We are recruiting qualified OISC Caseworkers to join our team. This role focuses on providing RMC clients with advice and support related to their immigration cases.

Salary scale: £22,500-£25,000 (dependent on the length of experience and ability to supervise other OISC-regulated colleagues)

Contract: 12 months with possibility of extension

Location: RMC’s offices in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Walsall (likely to be based in Wolverhampton or Walsall) – working across branches may be a requirement

 

Hours: 35 (full time)

Reporting to:  Casework team managers

Responsible for: Designated advisors and/or volunteers

Probation period: 6 months

Important Note: Being regulated by the Office of Immigration Services commission (OISC) Level 1 is an essential requirement. (If you are regulated at a higher level of OISC, please get in touch as different employment terms may apply)

The successful candidate will need to be able to communicate complex information clearly to distressed clients and have a high standard of communication skills, including written, oral, presentational and inter-personal skills
