Policy and Communications Officer
RMC are seeking to recruit for a new role within the charity. The role of the Policy and Communications Officer (PCO) is to support in building the capacity of RMC to advocate and address the root causes of problems faced by its clients by influencing our key stakeholders.
Salary scale: £26,000 – £28,000
Contract: 12 months with the possibility of extension
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: RMC’s Birmingham Centre, however working across branches is a requirement.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsibility for building the capacity for social policy and advocacy of RMC
- Responsibility for developing a model for social policy and advocacy that can be rolled out across our service
- Responsibility for identifying key issues and organising advocacy and lobbying activities
- Undertake research in a range of topics
- Undertake consultations internally and externally
- Draft briefings and reports providing evidence and recommendations

Caseworker- OISC-regulated Level 1, 2 or 3
We are recruiting qualified OISC Caseworkers to join our team. This role focuses on providing RMC clients with advice and support related to their immigration cases.
Salary scale: Dependent on current OISC level and experience
OISC Level 1 – £24,000 – £25,000
OISC Level 2 – £25,000 – £27,000
OISC Level 3 – £29,000 – £31-000
Hours: 35 (full time)
Location: RMC’s Birmingham Centre
Contract: 12-month fixed terms with possibility of extension.
Important Note: Being regulated by the Office of Immigration Services commission (OISC) is an essential requirement.
All Caseworkers (Levels 1,2 and 3) will be required to carry out the tasks shown below. The skill level to progress from one level to the next level is also detailed below.
- To provide professional and effective OISC regulated casework as well as advice, guidance and support to a broad range of RMC’s service users.
- To assist/support the team and the management to meet the needs of the beneficiaries and achieve targets.
- To support and supervise colleagues on a lower level of OISC regulation and designated volunteers.
- To deliver presentations and represent RMC at meetings/events when required by management.
- To take responsibility of projects related to the job
