Why Your Fundraising Is So Important

Every time someone starts a fundraiser, a community comes closer together. Every bake sale, every fun run, all helps make a difference to real people, with real lives.

RMC’s doors are open to help people navigate through those difficult times, to provide guidance and advice and to help people settle and build a life in the UK. However, behind every family supported and every child resettled lies a crucial component: funding.

Fundraising serves as an important way to help RMC provide support for those most vulnerable. To allow us to be there for everyone that walks through our doors. A huge thank you to everyone that has helped us so far.

Here are a few ways your fundraising goes to help our mission:

Meeting Basic Needs:

Those with no recourse to public funds can find themselves in a position completely unable to access mainstream support and isolated from the community. Fundraising helps us keep our destitution fund to provide basic support to those who can not access support elsewhere. This could provide accommodation, food, hygiene products or anything required to ensure a family is safe.

Providing Essential Services:

Beyond addressing immediate needs, RMC  offer a range of services aimed at facilitating integration and empowerment. These can include language classes, job support programs, immigration assistance, and psychosocial support. Fundraising initiatives provide the financial resources necessary to sustain and expand these vital services, empowering individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.

Awareness & Community support:

In addition to direct support, fundraising plays a crucial role in advocacy efforts and promoting policies that uphold the rights and dignity of refugees and migrants. By amplifying their voices and raising awareness about the challenges they face, fundraising campaigns contribute to shaping a more compassionate and inclusive society. Every time you tell someone about your fundraising, it makes people more aware of people’s needs and the barriers people face

In essence, fundraising is not just about raising money; it is about raising hope,  and offering opportunities for those most in need.

As we navigate the complexities of this modern world –  let us remember that our collective humanity is measured not by the walls we build but by the bridges we extend to those in need.

Together, through the power of fundraising and solidarity, we can create a brighter future for all, where every individual, regardless of their background or circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to society.
