EU Settlement Scheme – One year to go

With less than one year left to apply, it is more important than ever to apply for your settled or pre-settled status.

Why is it important?

“The EU Settlement Scheme is crucial for all EEA Nationals and their family members in the UK to ensure they can continue to receive the same entitlements they currently have. Many people have not yet applied and must do so… or risk losing their right to live, work, study and access services in the UK.”

Joe Roberts, EU Settlement lead for the Refugee and Migrant Centre

You can see an example of the difference it can make with the story of Amelia and how it turned her life around, here.

What do I need to do?

We can support your application, free of charge, from start to finish through trained and qualified advisors.

To access the support, please call one of our offices during the drop in times to book an appointment. If you are asked to come to our office, please bring your ID documents to help the process.

Our drop in service runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am-1pm. You can also complete our online form to request a call back

You can check if you need to apply through the governments website

Alternatively, you can complete the application yourself

How long does it take?

Once we can get you an appointment booked in, we usually allow half an hour per person to do the application. This may take longer if your case is more complex, but we can support you through this process.

The home office aims to have your decision to you within 3 weeks. The Home Office are currently stating “It is taking longer than usual to process applications because of coronavirus (COVID-19).”

Please be aware that demand will increase as final dates get closer, so the sooner you can get in touch to get booked in, the better.
