Creativity Through Resilience

We launched the Modern Art Programme’s first exhibition, titled Creativity Through Resilience. During the launch, there was a Q&A session with Ukrainian artists who took part in the project

Ivanna’s story – Homes for Ukraine

Since August 2023, RMC have been delivering the full Homes for Ukraine contract on behalf of Birmingham City Council. Colin and Lucy were fantastic hosts who took in Ivanna and her 4 year old daughter.

Daria – The importance of community

Daria left behind her family, her husband and her life. “Maybe a month or two and then I’ll be back home.” she thought. A year later she has found a community that understands her in the UK.

Inesa – Living through war

Inesa volunteers for RMC, helping those who have been through so much. But she herself has experienced more than many of us ever will. In this powerful story, she shares what it really is like living through war.

Yelyzaveta – The War Must End

“I remember the night, I was living with my family…..we got a call…. they might attack the power station.” Not long after this Yelyzaveta (pronounced similarly to Elizabeth) packed her bags and left everyone and everything she knew behind as she left Ukraine to seek safety.

Peace Vigil for Ukraine

On Thursday 10th March at 6pm, the Refugee and Migrant Centre hosted a peace vigil in St. Peter’s Square, Wolverhampton, outside the Civic Centre.
